Me as a Leader

As a leader, I have responsibility because I am taking care of people younger than me. Being a leader does not mean bossing around and giving younger people orders, but it means making sure that the children are in a safe and pleasant environment. We joke with the children and they joke with us too. This means that they have got used to us and this is good.

Overall, as a team, I think we are doing quite well in the Summer Club.

on being a leader...

Being a leader, apart from being entertaining, makes me more responsible, which is positive for my life. Meeting with my friends to plan outdoor and indoor activities to amuse the kids and taking care of them are simple issues which are making me even more in charge through out my life.

Working with children has always been a very fun thing to do. We laugh together while they are learning and working in groups. This is a very useful factor for children, because they are learning while having fun.

I hope I can continue working as a leader, which gives me satisfaction and happiness as it is an extremely enjoyable experience.

Is-Summer Club huwa progett mahsub ghal tfal bejn it-8 u l-10 snin minn grupp ta' zghazagh li xtaqu jkunu ta' servizz ghall-komunita` fil-Mosta. Dan iz-zghazagh jiehdu hsieb il-logistika relatata ma' dan il-grupp. Huma jiehdu b'impenn kbir il-preparazzjoni mehtiega u ghaldaqstant huma attendew leadership training kif ukoll meetings regolari mal-youth workers.

Note from Andrew...

Being a member of the Youth Empowerment Centre is fun. You meet the same people every week, and play a game that teaches us somthing, eg. how to work together. You eventually become friends with everyone and learn about their personality, you meet new people and we joke, talk, have fun and share experiences together.
